Drawing on current best behavioral science research in leadership assessment and development, our structured but flexible coaching process is closely tailored to the needs of potential leaders, leaders in transition, and top executives. We work with clients in current leadership positions as well as those poised for promotion into new or higher leadership. In each case, our clients benefit from an independent third-party assessment of their level of skills relative to their current or proposed leadership roles. With a proven track record of success, our 360-degree competencies assessment includes an active, hands-on coaching process that targets the most necessary skills to develop, maintain, and enhance. In the past, individual coaching may have been seen as more remedial than developmental, but modern organizations recognize the value in engaging with high-potential employees early and at every level to maximize their potential.

As with all of our consulting work, our approach to training and development is evidence-based, drawing on the best available current research in organizational science. For many years, we have built and co-led customized training and development programs aimed at building leadership skills at every level of the organization. Based on a model that identifies four critical intersecting roles of the manager, our targeted training circumvents trial-and-error and avoids common pitfalls as we train leaders in the strategies and tactics they can implement in order to establish their own successful style of leadership.

We have built and co-facilitated selection and assessment processes for a number of organizations, and designed and helped to run full high-fidelity assessment centers for a variety of leadership roles in sales and operations. Beyond that, we have helped to tighten the filters of initial selection-interviewing processes by enhancing the traditional unstructured interview processes with structured situational interviews.
Our assessment centers meet all the criteria established by the International Task Force on Assessment Center Guidelines, and include in-basket activities, role plays, and leaderless group discussions. Our realistic job simulations have helped our client-partner organizations to identify those employees who are ready for leadership, those who may not be able or willing to move up, and those who need additional coaching or training in order to be ready to move up in the organization.

We have worked closely with many client companies in times of major transition in their business. Family-held businesses must inevitably deal with the transition in leadership from one generation to the next. We have advised such companies on the most effective ways to onboard and prepare the next generation of leaders for their roles. We have also consulted with small companies which have grown to the point where the founders can no longer manage every aspect of their business effectively by themselves, and they need to fundamentally restructure their organization.
Additionally, we have worked with companies during mergers and acquisitions, advising them on their new organizational structure, and the challenges of making the transition to the new company as smooth as possible. Several of our client companies realized that their traditional assembly-line mode of production was limited compared to reorganizing their production employees into self-managing or semi-autonomous work teams to make their product. We have helped several household- name industrial companies make just such a transition.

We design and co-facilitate safety briefings that target the specific needs of our client-partners. Such safety briefings make visible the leading and the lagging indicators of safe work and help our client-partners build a sustained positive safety culture. Having worked closely with teams of researchers and practitioners who pioneered the behavioral approach to occupational safety, we have developed a streamlined, user-friendly, and applied version of behavior-based safety which has proven to yield dramatic results in a short timeframe.
